St John’s College is a Greek school in Melbourne, and we are proud to celebrate the Greek language and our Hellenic heritage. As part of our mission and values as a Greek language school, we encourage our students to learn about and stay connected with their cultural roots. We believe that this greatly benefits our students’ academic and personal growth and shapes them into well-rounded young people. Read below to discover how we help our students maintain their connection to Greek culture.

Greek Language & Culture Program

St John’s College Greek language school offers a Greek Language and Hellenic Culture program as part of our extracurricular activities. In this program, students learn Modern Greek and are also taught about Greek history, arts, philosophy, food and traditions. Designed to nurture pride in the Greek culture, our students are better able to form meaningful connections within their community.

Camps & International Trips

Students also get to participate in camps and international trips through our Greek school. An international trip to Greece as well as events, such as the Greek Orthodox Archdiocese of Australia National Sports and Creative Arts Event, allow our students to learn more about Greek culture and lifestyle and stay connected to their community.

Greek Cultural Festivals & Concerts

Throughout the year, students participate in Greek cultural festivals and concerts around the city. Representing the St John’s College Greek language school, they get to share their knowledge about Greek culture and learn from other members of our community. Immersing themselves in these rich cultural environments also helps instil a sense of pride and belonging in our students.

Reconnect With Your Greek Roots

As a co-ed Greek school in Melbourne, St John’s College is proud to connect our students to their Greek culture and heritage. We have a large Greek-Australian community, so students need to stay connected to their roots and learn Greek to better communicate with their family and friends.
