The students and staff of St John’s College Preston wish to congratulation Dr Nikos Bogannidis (Head of Digital Practices at St John’s College) on his completion and graduation from his PhD at Monash University held on 21st September 2023.
Dr Bogannidis’ research topic was ‘Optimising Teaching and Learning with Digital Technologies: Insights and Strategies for the Knowledge Era’. The study examined the comprehension and use of digital technologies for teaching, learning, and daily tasks among experienced teachers, instructional leaders, students aged 10 to 14, and preservice teachers. The qualitative research explored critical educational challenges in teaching and learning in a complex, ever-changing world. It focused on purposefully selected volunteers who demonstrated mindsets geared towards optimising their craft through effective strategies and technological tools. The study identified the need for a robust knowledge base in educational Episteme, Techne, and Phronesis to ensure that knowledge is constructed and applied effectively in technology-blended real-world situations.
